About Mona-KarinaTheodosius: BA, Oxon., PGCE, MSc Psychological Therapies (Exon.), UKCP/AFT regd.
I am a registered and accredited Systemic and Family Psychotherapist, working to UKCP/AFT professional standards and ethical guidelines. In practice this means that I am trained and experienced in working therapeutically with adult individuals, couples and families, including children and young people, adapting approach to meet client need. My start point is a belief in the importance of relationship, both our relationship with ourselves, from where each of us starts, and our relationship with others. I believe that happy and meaningful living grows out of happy and meaningful relationships. I also believe in the possibility of change, which although always hard, can be hopeful.
Training and Experience |
I have been working in the field of counselling and psychotherapy since 2000, qualifying first as a relationship counsellor (individuals and couples), before going on to train as a family therapist. I am also a qualified clinical counselling supervisor and group facilitator and have worked in statutory (NHS and educational), voluntary and private sectors. I work with a wide range of presentations, issues and difficulties, for example couple/family conflict and breakdown, anxiety and depression, abuse, life stage transitions, chronic/terminal illness and bereavement.
